Abstract
Number of perinatal death in Indonesia is high. The perinatal death is considered as a better measurement and sensitive to appraise the quality of midwifery service. If the number of perinatal death still high that’s mean the obstetric service system is bad and need recovery. The effort of reducing perinatal death will be effective if the causes of perinatal death are known and caution. Therefore, the aim of this research is the conscious of the risk description of Perinatal death factor at Perinatal barn in Panembahan Senopati Bantul, general hospital, 2009. This research is using descriptive method of retrospective time approximation. Data populations are takes from 92 respondents. The data collections using secondary data of medical record, the results are analyze with mean, modus, median for numeric data and frequency table distribution for category collection. The results are getting from the causes which contributed to the prenatal death: mother education level (60.9%), Preklamasi or Eklamasi pregnant (6.5%), early broke fetal membrane (18.5%), unprogressive period (8.7%), congenital disorder (14.1%) and asphyxia (79.3%). By these reasons we are appeal to increase the knowledge to detect the high risk of perinatal death and the handling by: increasing midwife education level or nurse, joining early detection trainings and the handling of perinatal death risk, the improvement of service system an periodic result evaluation.
