Abstract

The research was carried out in SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Minggir located in Parakan, Sendangsari, Minggir, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Because of the results of preliminary studies found low levels of knowledge and behavior of vulva hygiene menstruasi class VIII. The purpose of this study was to determine the corelation level of knowledge about menstruation with vulva hygiene behavior in class VIII student in junior high school Muhammadiyah 2 Minggir Sleman Yogyakarta in 2011. This study uses the analytic design of the survey method, the correlation with cross sectional approach. The independent variableis the level of knowledge quiet periods and the dependent variable is the behavior of vulva hygiene. Data collection tool with aquestionnaire. The sample of this research is all class VIII student who was menstruating and numbered 30 people. The analysis of testused is Kendall Tau correlation. Based on the result showed that there was a significant correlationbetween the level of knowledge about menstruation with vulvahygiene behaviors as indicated by the value of τ for 0.528 with a significance level of 0.000. Advice for student SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Minggir the research is expected to be source of information about reproduction health, main problem about menstruasi and vulva hygiene be correctly in order to behavior of vulva hygiene.
