Abstract

After delivery with caesarian section, a mother needs longer period of time for healing her pain than the one with normal delivery. He nce, she needs the help of her family to conduct her daily activities. Family’s help is also crucial since ther e will a change in the mother’s physical and psychological condition afte r the caesarian section. The main target of home care treatment is patients who have just conducte d hospital treatment, as well as those who do not have any hospital treat ment yet needs a visit from paramedics (nurse, physician or laboratory assistant) to monitor the state of their health. This research aims to study the description of home care need to the patien ts of post-caesarian section in Bhayangkara Yogyakarta Regional Police Hospital, Yogyakarta. The research employed descriptive non experi mental survey. The population of this research was 30 mothers who delivered their ba bies in caesarian section in Bhayangkara Yogyakarta Regional Police Hospital, Yogyaka rta. Sample taking was conducted through total sampling resulted in 30 respondents as th e sample. Data was collected via questionnaire and analyzed with percentage formula. The result of this research shows that most of the respondents are about 20-30 years old (63.3%), senior high school graduate (53.3%), earn maximally Rp 1,000,000 and primigravida (first time delivery) mother ( 76.7%), and those who do not need post-caesarian section home care treatment are 26 respondents (86.7%). Respondents who need post- caesarian section home care treatment for wound ar e 13 patients (43.3%), need post-caesarian section treatment for baby as 9 patients (30%) and require post-caesarian section treatment for mother as 3 patients (10%). It is strongly suggested for post-caesarian section patients and their families to utilize home care treatment in dealing with wound h ealing after post-caesar ian section and to improve the health of mother and her baby.
