Abstract

The absence of children in a family often cause problems, discord, mutual blame, polygamy and divorce. The purpose of this study is to describe the understanding of infertile couples, business, obstacles and solving problems of infertility. Descriptive exploratory design is used with the cross sectional approach. Data collected by interview and observation as triangulation. Subjects of the study in 3 primary infertile couples in the village of Wonokerto Turi Sleman. The results of this study was that all resonden understand the sense of infertility, the majority of respondents do see a doctor and alternative treatments (massage and herbal medicine), most respondents obstacle is cost, and most of the attitudes of infertile couples in the solution of primary infertility choose divorce. From this study are not expected for infertile couples choose divorce as a solution to infertility problems because there are many other more appropriate solutions such as adoption
